Wedding Shower Invitations in General

Wedding showers, also referred to as bridal showers, are another way that we can celebrate the happy Couple before their wedding.  It’s a party where all the Guests can shower their love and best wishes upon the bride-to-be.
The hosts of the wedding shower can be anyone really, but it is typically the bridesmaids, a friend or sister of the bride who throw the shower.  It’s not uncommon for a bride-to-be to have more than one shower thrown in her honor.
Traditionally the wedding shower was attended by the bride and all her female friends and family members only.  However, there is a strong trend nowadays for the wedding shower to be for the Couple, rather than the bride-to-be only.

While a wedding shower is like any other party in that it’s meant to be fun, there is also a practical side to the shower.  The gifts that are received are to help the Couple start their marriage with a bang.  Some wedding showers have a clear theme for both the shower and the gifts, while others will detail the Couple’s registry information on the invitation for any gift of your choosing.  The host, or someone assigned by the host, will want to be sure that they keep a record of each gift that the bride-to-be receives so that Thank You notes can be mailed out without delay; typically within 2 weeks of the shower.

Wedding shower invitations are a key component of the wedding shower planning process.  Invitations can be sent by mail, email or even telephone.  Regardless of the method of delivery you choose, you will want to be sure to send the wedding shower invitations at least a month in advance.
